Alex Pereira Questions UFC 334 Main Event Selection
Alex Pereira has questioned the selection of Ciryl Gane versus Josh Hokit as the main event for UFC 334 at Madison Square Garden.
Former multi-division UFC champion Alex Pereira has publicly criticized the decision to headline UFC 334 with a heavyweight title bout. The November 14 event at Madison Square Garden is currently set to be topped by a matchup between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit. In a recent social media post, Pereira questioned the booking of the Gane versus Hokit fight as the main event, asking, “Why is the women’s fight not the main event?” The Brazilian fighter has been vocal regarding the fight card’s promotional status for the promotion's return to New York City. As of now, the UFC has not publicly responded to Pereira’s commentary on the marquee matchup. The card remains one of the most anticipated events on the promotional calendar, despite the external critique regarding the hierarchy of the scheduled bouts.
