Apollo Gomes Targets UFC Contract With Knockout Goal at DWCS

Apollo Gomes is set to compete on this Tuesday’s edition of Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas, aiming to secure a spot on the UFC roster with an impressive performance. Representing the Chute Boxe gym in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Gomes has made his intentions clear heading into the high-stakes matchup.

Ahead of the bout, Gomes spoke confidently about his approach, predicting that he will secure a knockout victory over his opponent, Won Il Kwon. He expressed his goal of leaving a lasting impression on Dana White, stating that he believes the UFC CEO will be convinced of his potential if he can deliver a finish on the canvas.

His opponent, Won Il Kwon, returns to the Contender Series looking to rebound from a brutal knockout loss sustained during his previous appearance on the program in 2025. With both fighters coming into the cage with high stakes, the contest serves as a pivotal opportunity for both to prove their worth to the promotion’s top brass.
