Charles Oliveira Dismisses BMF Title Concept, Maintains Focus on Finishing Ability

By MMAReign News Desk·Oct 19, 2026 • 3:04 PM

Charles Oliveira stated he will not alter his fighting style to fit the "BMF" title archetype, emphasizing his commitment to the finishing ability that has defined his record-setting UFC career.

Charles Oliveira remains committed to his signature fighting style despite the prestige surrounding the BMF title. Speaking on the concept of the "BMF" championship, which is often associated with a high-action, "rock 'em sock 'em" style of combat, Oliveira made it clear that he will not compromise his approach to satisfy the branding of that specific belt.

"Do Bronx" holds numerous UFC records, including the most finishes, submissions, and bonuses in promotional history. Reflecting on his career and his transition into the role of a BMF titleholder after taking the belt from Max Holloway earlier this year, the Brazilian veteran suggested that the fighter who values pure chaos over technical proficiency should take that expectation elsewhere. Oliveira has finished his opponents in 21 of his 25 victories under the UFC banner, cementing his reputation as one of the most prolific finishers to ever compete in the octagon.

Rather than pivoting toward a brawling style to fit the BMF narrative, Oliveira indicated he will continue to leverage his elite grappling and high-level finishing instincts. For the former champion, the title is an accolade, but it does not dictate his tactical identity or his willingness to engage in patient, calculated exchanges.
