John Martin Resigns as CEO of PFL-MVP Following Merger
John Martin has resigned as CEO of the PFL-MVP organization less than two months after the merger, with co-founder Nakisa Bidarian taking over leadership.
John Martin has resigned from his position as CEO of the Professional Fighters League (PFL)-MVP entity. His departure comes less than two months after the official merger between the two organizations was finalized. Martin had assumed the role during the summer of 2005, taking over for Peter Murray, who subsequently moved into an international role before departing the organization entirely. Following Martin’s exit, MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian has stepped in to assume leadership responsibilities. The transition takes place during a critical window as the newly merged company prepares for its scheduled events in early 2027. The PFL and MVP merger represents a significant consolidation in the combat sports landscape, and Bidarian will now oversee operations as the promotion looks to execute its strategic roadmap for the coming year. There has been no further comment from the organization regarding the specific reasons behind Martin's sudden departure.
