Renato Moicano Targets Ilia Topuria for Return Fight

Renato Moicano has publicly pitched himself as the ideal next opponent for former two-division champion Ilia Topuria. Topuria has remained inactive since his June loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC White House.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Moicano argued that he would be the logical choice for Topuria as the former titleholder looks to regain his footing. Moicano suggested that after his recent high-stakes setback, the former champion might benefit from a matchup against a seasoned veteran like himself.

While Topuria has not yet announced his return timeline or an official opponent, the lightweight standout believes he offers the perfect stylistic test for the Spaniard. Moicano is currently focused on his own upcoming professional commitments but has clearly positioned himself as a potential adversary for when Topuria is cleared to re-enter the Octagon.
