Scott Coker, the former head of Strikeforce and Bellator, has announced the creation of a new promotion called Ki MMA, which is scheduled to launch in 2027 with a Grand Prix tournament format.

Veteran promoter Scott Coker, widely recognized for his tenure leading Strikeforce and Bellator MMA, has officially announced his return to the sport with a new organization titled Ki MMA. Pronounced 'Key MMA,' the promotion is slated for an official launch in early 2027.

During Tuesday's announcement, Coker confirmed that he is joined in this new venture by veteran matchmaker Rich Chou, reuniting a team that has historically overseen numerous major combat sports events. The organization’s initial roadmap includes the implementation of a Grand Prix tournament structure, a format that Coker famously utilized during his time heading Strikeforce and Bellator.

While the promotion is not scheduled to commence operations until 2027, the announcement signals a significant shift in the combat sports landscape. Further details regarding the organizational structure, fighter recruitment, and broadcasting partnerships are expected to follow as the launch date approaches. This new project marks Coker’s first major promotion since his departure from Bellator following its acquisition by the PFL.
