Tony Ferguson Receives New Opponent for Misfits Boxing Title Defense
Tony Ferguson will now face former Olympic wrestler Mahmoud Sebie for his Misfits Boxing middleweight title after original opponent Kenzo Biyong withdrew due to travel issues.
Former UFC interim champion Tony Ferguson will face a new opponent in his upcoming Misfits Boxing title defense. The promotion announced on Tuesday that Ferguson is now scheduled to defend his middleweight title against former Olympic wrestler Mahmoud Sebie this Saturday.
The change comes just four days before the event. Ferguson was initially slated to face Kenzo Biyong, but the bout was scrapped after Biyong was forced to withdraw due to what the promotion described as travel complications. Sebie now steps in on short notice to challenge the veteran striker for the championship.
Ferguson, who maintains a long-standing career in professional combat sports, shifts his preparation to account for Sebie’s distinct grappling background. The bout remains the centerpiece of the Misfits Boxing card. There has been no formal statement regarding the health or specific details surrounding Biyong's inability to travel, other than the official confirmation of his withdrawal.
