No. 9-ranked UFC featherweight Youssef Zalal is leaving his longtime gym and seeking to train under coach Trevor Wittman following his recent loss to Aljamain Sterling.

UFC featherweight contender Youssef Zalal is set to undergo a significant change in his training environment. Following his recent unanimous decision loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC Vegas 116, the No. 9-ranked contender has decided to part ways with his longtime training facility.

The defeat in Las Vegas marked a major shift for the Moroccan fighter, as it brought an end to an impressive eight-fight winning streak. Seeking a fresh start to rebound in the competitive 145-pound division, Zalal is currently eyeing a move to join the camp led by renowned coach Trevor Wittman.

Wittman, who oversees an elite stable of fighters in Colorado, is widely regarded as one of the top tactical minds in the sport. A transition to this gym would mark a new chapter for Zalal as he attempts to regain his momentum and return to the form that saw him climb the rankings. There has been no formal announcement yet regarding the finalization of the move, but the move signals Zalal’s intent to refine his approach following his first setback in nearly five months.
