Undefeated Prospect Luis Hernandez Competes on Dana White's Contender Series

Luis Hernandez, an undefeated middleweight prospect, is scheduled to compete tonight, Tuesday, September 15, 2026, on Dana White’s Contender Series at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Hernandez, who is also a full-time Miami-Dade police officer, is vying for a professional contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

This appearance marks a return to the spotlight for the prospect, who previously gained notoriety over a year ago when he was involved in an altercation with former UFC champion Sean Strickland. During that regional MMA event, Strickland stormed the cage and struck Hernandez in the face.

Following that highly publicized incident, Hernandez continues his professional career tonight with a clean record as he attempts to secure a roster spot in the world's premier MMA organization. The fight card, taking place at the Meta APEX, features various up-and-coming athletes looking to impress UFC leadership and earn their way into the promotion.
